ipad small feature request: off/def icons are too close together

On the iPad, we build plays by tapping the small icons with our finger. It's easy to mis-tap, select a wrong icon, and then (apparently) you have to "cut" all the player's instructions and start over. Please make the icons larger, so that finger taps are more likely to be accurate.
I'll take another look at the size, but the best solution may be to offer 'undo' as you previously suggested.
